Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2, 2026
The short version
Where’s Rocko? is a free set of games for kids. There are no accounts, no sign-ups and no ads, and we don’t collect personal information about anyone. Best times and progress stay in your own browser. We do keep a few anonymous totals (like “Ball Launch was played 40 times in Ohio today”) so we can show the play map. Nothing in them points back to you or your child.
Where’s Rocko? (“the Site,” wheresrocko.com) is part of Rocko’s World and is operated by Rocko’s World (“we,” “us”). We care about everyone’s privacy, especially children’s. This policy explains exactly what we do and don’t collect.
What we don’t collect
We never ask for or collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, birthdays, photos, logins or precise locations. There are no user accounts, no profiles, no chat, and nothing for anyone to post. We don’t sell or share personal information, because we don’t have any.
What stays on your device
To make the games nicer, the Site saves a few things in your browser’s local storage, such as best times, game progress, unlocked levels, sound settings and the order you’ve arranged the tiles in. This stays on your device and isn’t sent to us. You can remove it anytime by clearing your browser’s data for this site. We don’t use cookies.
Playing as your own cartoon (Rocko & Me)
A grown-up who makes a cartoon of their child on Rocko & Me (rockoandme.com, part of Rocko’s World) can tap “Play Where’s Rocko?” so the child can play some games as that cartoon. Rocko & Me hands the two cartoon pictures and the child’s first name straight to this browser tab. They are never sent to our servers, never put in the web address, and never used for analytics. The Site keeps them only in that tab’s session storage (not local storage, not cookies), and they’re gone when the tab is closed or when you tap “Stop playing as…”. We still don’t collect anything from kids. Rocko & Me has its own privacy policy for what happens on rockoandme.com.
Anonymous play totals (the play map)
When a game opens, the Site adds one to a counter for that game in a general area, such as a country and state or region. While a game is being played, it also adds the number of minutes played to the same counter. The area comes from our hosting provider’s rough estimate for the connection and is rounded to about 11 km (7 miles), so it’s never a street or a home. We don’t store IP addresses, use cookies, ask for browser location, or keep any per-visitor record. The data is only totals, for example “Checkers, Canada, Ontario: 212 plays, 1,840 minutes.” We use these totals to draw the public play map and to see which games kids enjoy.
Friend games
Backgammon, Checkers and Connect Four can be played online with a friend using a private invite code. While a friend game is open, we store the game board and the two “pup names” (picked from a fixed list, never typed in). The game is deleted once it expires. To stop people from guessing codes, we count attempts using a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of the connection address, never the address itself, and delete those counts within about two hours. There is no chat. You can read more on the For Parents page.
Rocko Pals plush tags
If you adopt a Rocko Pals plush using the code on its tag, we store the tag, a “keeper name” picked from a fixed list of fun names, and the adoption history of that plush. We don’t ask for a real name, an email or an address to adopt.
Advertising
There are no ads on the Site today. We may add ads in the future to help keep the games free. If we do, we will only use kid-appropriate, non-personalized (contextual) ads with no behavioral tracking or profiling of children, and we’ll update this policy before any ads appear.
Service providers
- Cloudflare hosts the Site. Like any web host, it processes your connection (including your IP address) to deliver pages and protect the Site from attacks.
- Google Fonts supplies the Site’s lettering. To deliver the fonts, Google receives your device’s IP address; see Google’s privacy policy for details.
- jsDelivr supplies the world-map drawing code on the play map page and receives your IP address to deliver it.
We don’t use analytics services, advertising trackers or social-media pixels.
Children’s privacy (COPPA)
The Site is made for children as well as families. In keeping with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not collect personal information from children under 13, or from anyone else. Because nothing we keep identifies a child, there is nothing for a parent to review or delete. If you think a child has somehow sent us personal information (for example, by emailing us), contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.
Rocko’s World for grown-ups
Grown-up features such as parent accounts and Treat Time will live at rockosworld.com, which will have its own privacy policy. Kids never need an account to play on wheresrocko.com.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top. If we ever change how we handle children’s information, we’ll make the change clear here first.
